Francine Blinten

Francine Blinten is founder and CEO of Sound Nutrition LLC where she works with clients on a variety of health and metabolic issues. Areas of expertise include disease prevention, management of chronic disease, weight management, GI disorders and bone support. She uses  laboratory results, medical history and client background to customize an eating plan appropriate for the client’s age, gender and lifestyle.

Ms. Blinten has a subspecialty in oncology nutrition.  She worked as a staff nutritionist at the Boyd Center for Integrative Health under the guidance of Dr. Barry Boyd, a leading oncologist in Greenwich, CT for six years. She helped patients use diet and life style to manage treatment side effects and reduce risk of cancer recurrence.  

Francine is a consulting nutritionist at the Connecticut Mental Health Center, a partnership between Yale University School of Medicine and the State of Connecticut. She consults with clients with diet-sensitive disease and educates clients on diet correction, menu planning and  healthy food preparation . Francine is a frequent lecturer at the Yale School of Medicine and has authored two papers on this topic.

Ms. Blinten earned a Bachelor of Business degree from Hofstra University in 1982, a Master of Business degree in finance from Fordham University in 1989 and a Master of Science degree from the Nutrition Institute at Bridgeport University in 2004. She is double board certified as a Certified Clinical Nutritionist and Certified Nutrition Specialist by the International and American Association of Clinical Nutritionists in 2004 and the Certification Board of Nutrition Specialist in 2012, respectively. Francine is licensed by the State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health.
